No. 5
Chanel No. 5
Brought up 3 times
Chanel No. 5 is one of the most iconic beauty products of all time.
★ Best affordable acid toner
Glow Tonic
Pixi Glow Tonic
Brought up 3 times
When I first saw Pixi Glow Tonic at a blogger event, I looked at the ingredients list and blogged about it that evening. [...] Then basically I shut down the whole operation for about two months because the demand went through the roof.
★ Best body moisturizer
Creme de Corps Body Lotion
Kiehl's Creme de Corps Body Lotion
Brought up 2 times
I've always in my bathroom for the last 10 years had the Kiehl's body moisturizer. [...] I've never, I can't remember the last time I didn't have one in my bathroom genuinely. It's my favorite because with my face, my body, I'm the same. I just couldn't go without moisturizing from head to toe. It's [...] a real staple that's always been there. If I don't have body moisturizer I'm not getting dressed.

Products where their take diverges from the rest of the gurus.

Caroline Hirons: Nay vs gurus 68% Yay
I recently tried the new Charlotte Tilbury Exaggerize and I didn't like it. It's very fanned out effect.
Caroline Hirons: Nay vs gurus 79% Yay
I did that with the new Ordinary Retinol, but it's so yellow. There's yellow and then there's this yellow. It's like my book yellow and staining yellow. It's 0.2%, so it's like the [...] equivalent of medicates' Crystal Retinal 20. [...] Yes, it's cheaper, yes by all means try it, but if you're going to go down that road why don't you get a slightly even more sophisticated product and do a dermatologist or a skincare professional and get a prescription?

"When I'm in a rush during the day, something like the CeraVe facial moisturizing lotion can just be great to use. But if it's like before bed or in the evening and I really want to amp it up, I'll go to something like a barrier cream instead. I'm not going to use the barrier cream under all my makeup."

I mean truly my pain is that in selling to Unilever they ended up discontinuing and then reformulating you. You didn't need to touch Nourish, there was nothing wrong with it, nothing. There was nothing wrong with oil free, don't touch it."

"I really like the barrier butter from Rhode. It's very nice, it's just cocooning but it's not too thick. I love the Rhode Barrier Butter and it's great, but the scent sometimes throws me and sometimes I want it and sometimes I don't, and it's greasy. There's no, even the light one, it's greasy and the light one peels a little bit unfortunately, but I love the Rhode Barrier Butter."

It's not something that you need if you're young, but if you are 35ish, 40, probably plus, certainly 50 plus, and certainly nearly 55 and a Nana plus, you will see the benefit of this. I kind of use this as a hybrid between a treatment and a moisturizer, so I will do my face, do a serum, maybe I'll put this on, and then I'll put a moisturizer on top because I'm greedy. I love it. "I generally use fragrance-free because then I'm not going to do any further aggravation. But it is my favorite moisturizer of all time. That's why we made it. My most used product. I'm not even embarrassed by it. The whole componentry of this product is recyclable. If we were to make it refillable, we would bring in a whole other piece of plastic. At the moment, that means you're using fresh plastic, and I don't want to do that. So for the moment, the moisturizer is not refillable."

"I would have looked at the brush on the Jones Road mascara and thought I'm not going to like that, but it's actually a brilliant mascara. If you prime the face with highlighter, meaning put highlighters in as many places as you can, that light bounces off of the face, so imperfections become less visible because the light is bouncing back.
