What the gurus are saying

Adapalene's gentler nature among retinoids means most people tolerate it better than stronger vitamin A derivatives, and it tackles acne on multiple fronts by normalizing skin cell turnover, calming inflammation, and helping prevent dark spots. Experts advise using only a thin film, avoiding the eye area and corners of the mouth and nose, and applying at night, though it can technically go on in the morning since adapalene is photostable.

"It's an Adapalene 0.1% Gel by AcneFree. Many brands make an adapalene gel and I don't really care which brand you use. Choose one that's affordable and make sure it has adapalene 0.1% in the active ingredients. It's going to work to prevent new acne from forming. Adapalene helps normalize your skin cell turnover and helps a lot of things on the skin, but it's really good for addressing this particular cause of acne. All of these ingredients are anti-inflammatory."

"AcneFree's Adapalene 0.1% Gel is a good affordable option. This is a retinoid, and adapalene is one of the least irritating retinoids, so people tolerate it better. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and it can help lighten and prevent hyperpigmentation. You don't want to use it near the eyes, corners of the mouth, or corners of the nose. You only need a very thin film. It can be used at night time or in the morning."

"One of my favorites is from AcneFree, it's under like $15. This is great for acne, great for wrinkles, it's even good for pigmentation and it also helps with that skin cell turnover for the sebaceous filaments."

What Are 11 Lines and Can You Reverse Them At Home?!
"I love some adapalene gel, this is one of my favorite budget options, this is from AcneFree, it's like 10 to 15 bucks. What's great about this is that because this is a third generation retinoid it's basically safe to use during the day and in the sun. Of course you still need sunscreen, and sunscreen is the most important part of this because sunscreen actually prevents the wrinkles from happening because it prevents your collagen from breaking down in the first place."

"There's also an adapalene gel I love the one from AcneFree, it's really inexpensive and really good. That one is also stable to use during the daytime or the nighttime as long as you do it under sunscreen."

"This is one of my favorites. This is adapalene gel from AcneFree. This is basically a cruelty-free vegan version of Differin. And this you can use as a spot treatment, but take a small amount of this and just apply it all over. And if you notice that you get a lot of breakouts, that might be the answer."
Best Acne Products Under $35 Dollars
"I absolutely love Acne Free. This little bottle I can get as low as seven dollars, you can get it for like eleven dollars. I normally get it for cheapest on Amazon but you can find this at other grocery stores as well so it's really easily accessible. This is fantastic if you do have super sensitive skin because a dappling gel is known to be less irritating than other forms of retinoids. It's known to cause less redness, less itching, less irritation."
Do You Have A Retinol Rash Or Are You Experiencing Retinization?
"This is from Acne Free. I love this. An adapalene gel is basically a synthetic version of a retinoid, it's a third generation retinoid, and it's made for acne but to be less irritating and to be a little bit more photo stable, so light stable, meaning this is better to use during the day than something like your straight up tretinoin. This is also wonderful, it can still cause retinization, but depending on what does or doesn't work for your skin this gel might be really helpful."
Adapalene vs Tretinoin - Which Is The Best ANTI-ACNE and ANTI-AGING Ingredient?
"This is from Acne Free, a cruelty-free version of Differin. I normally get this for around eleven, maybe fifteen bucks on Amazon. You can also get this at some pharmacies such as CVS."
The Best Products I’ve Ever Used As An Esthetician
"Yes this is called acne free but I educate clients and patients on this all the time to look for the active ingredients. The adapalene in here has been shown to help fine lines and wrinkles if you're very gentle with it and if the derma approves that you can use it around the eye area as long as you titrate and you're careful with it. You can use it on smile lines, you can use it if you have large blemishes, even if you have cystic acne."
10 Best Acne Product Essentials For Breakout Prone Skin! (Under $50!)
"Differin was prescription for a long time but now it's available over the counter, and Acne Free made this so that it's affordable and accessible to us acne sufferers. Adapalene is a synthetic retinoid, like a cousin molecule. It's more stable when exposed to sunlight so you can go out during the day, unlike a lot of retinoids. [...] This one is also less irritating than a lot of prescription retinoids, so if you are someone who's more prone to sensitivity this is great."
Which Retinoid is Best for Your Skin Type?
"Adapalene is a synthetic retinoid made by Acne Free, which is one of my favorite brands that's actually made for acne prone skin. If you are a teenager, if you have hormonal teenage acne, if you do have lots of acne and breakouts, this retinoid is going to be fantastic for you. But also if you have sensitive skin this might be a great go, even if you're just sensitive dealing with wrinkles or sensitive dealing with scars or sensitive and hyperpigmentation."
The 14 Best Products For Texture & Acne
"It's amazing for texture and for large pores and for scars, especially even if you have a colored scar. Adapalene is a specific type of retinoid, it is basically a cousin molecule and it's actually less irritating so if you have sensitive skin. And literally what is this, nine dollars? This is what you should go for. It is amazing, it's phenomenal, and you can just spot it on at night. You can also use this under sunscreen."

"There's even adapalene gel and adapalene gel tends to be a little bit less irritating so if you do have more irritation prone skin the one from AcneFree is the one I would recommend that is great."

"Their adapalene gel is phenomenal for acne and anti-aging. It's a cruelty-free dupe of Differin. [...] My $9 adapalene gel is now six bucks. AcneFree is inexpensive and affordable and it is a retinoid that used to be prescription only."
Retinoids That Don't Burn: All About Adapalene Gel
"If you found that retinol doesn't work or if it's too irritating to you or if the ones you find over the counter have a bunch of fragrance or if you find that prescription strength is just too much or you can't get a prescription, you're literally looking at something that is either under 10 or 20 bucks depending on the size that you get that is cruelty free, fragrance free, oil free, and yes dermatologist recommended and approved."
