What the gurus are saying

This spray version of Aquaphor's classic ointment earns consistent praise for making an occlusive moisturizer easy to apply to hard-to-reach spots like backs and heels without the heavy feel. Dermatologists and skincare experts prize it as a final protective layer over body moisturizer, especially for very dry skin or eczema patches, and note it spreads thin and evenly instead of feeling tacky. One practical note from the gurus: apply it to damp skin right after showering, and lay down a towel first since the spray can make floors slippery.

"It's a great hack if you have kids with dry skin and you want to spray a larger surface area instead of dipping your hand in a big jar of Aquaphor and trying to spread it over kids that are just moving all over the place. A nice spray just to cover a large surface area. If you have dry cracked heels, spraying your feet with this spray has been a game changer. This has been a big essential in my household."

"Did you know that Aquaphor makes ointment body spray? This is insane. We love this product. We have multiple sprays all around the house. Great for covering a large surface area."
Dermatologist Explains: How to Treat Dry, Cracked Heels and Hands
"It's just so convenient. You do have to work it in a little or spray it, so you do have to use your hands. It's not totally hands-free but totally something that you could throw into your routine. She leaves this by her nightstand so that she can apply it to some of the dry wrists. Those are great strategies to apply on the heels, very much a dermatology secret that we all talk about and a lot of people don't know about."

"This is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment Body Spray. Both deliver glycerin rich occlusive moisture, but it's all about the spray. This also has sort of an easy mist spray to it. It's perfect for getting to those hard-to-reach areas like your back when you're getting out of the shower. That's when I use it."

"You've got to get you a spray moisturizer. Aquaphor has one that comes in a spray, and [...] they have lotion sprays too that you can spray on your back. I think the Aquaphor is better, especially in the wintertime, because I always get this really dry patch in the middle of my back, almost like an eczema patch, if I don't take care of it. That Aquaphor spray is great because it has the petroleum jelly in it to help prevent water loss."

"In recent years I've been using the Aquaphor Healing Ointment Body Spray. I kind of sometimes develop a little eczema in the middle of my back because it's kind of hard to get lotion back there, but [...] I can just get it right in there. [...] Body care products are good for things like that."

"Aquaphor Healing Ointment Body Spray so basically you going to do everything I just told you to do in there right, you know, get your moisturizer where you can reach it and then you get the Aquaphor Healing Ointment Body Spray and you spray it everywhere else. But just remember to do it on slightly damp skin."

"I really just think it's genius that they took an ointment that usually feels so heavy and greasy and put it in a spray applicator to really just make it easier to apply a very thin even layer. If you struggle with super dry skin you might realize that using a regular body moisturizer on a day-to-day basis isn't really enough, so I really like this as like a final coat over whatever body moisturizer you're already using."

"Another petrolatum based product that I absolutely love and I feel like it was genius for Aquaphor to come out with is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment Body Spray. This is basically an ointment spray, and the tricky thing about ointment is that they are really thick and they're not the most desirable greasy texture."

"This is the Aquaphor Healing Ointment Body Spray, really good. [...] It's great for if you're just walking out and about, flip flops, you just want to make the heels look tidy or your shins look tidy, you can spray it on and suddenly you [...] look down and go oh my God, actually legs quick when you're already dressed."

"Aquaphor actually has a spray that's pretty cool, in case you like a petrolatum spray. [...] If you could spray that on your body for really, really dry skin, that's helped out a ton of my patients."

"You can see it goes on really lightly like a foam and then [...] when you blend it in, it feels like an ointment on the skin but it's just applied a lot more quickly and easily with a lot less rubbing and tugging. [...] This is an absolute must-have in my skincare stockpile ever since I first discovered it. I love it for myself and children and I highly recommend this. It's so cool."

"I lock in that smoothness while my skin is nice and damp with this Aquaphor body spray. It is ideal, it is their ointment in a spray form and it works beautifully because it creates a protective barrier that locks in your moisture without making you feel overwhelmed or overburdened by that ointment. It just helps to heal areas that are very sensitive or raw. Just one tip: put a large towel on the floor if you are going to be spraying this because it does have a scatter effect."

"Aquaphor wins when it comes to the body because they have an ointment body spray which I am obsessed with. It is an ointment that you can literally spray on your skin without getting that crazy greasiness of an ointment that you're using on your skin, and it just gets dispersed more evenly."

"Aquaphor has an ointment spray you can literally spray this all over your body it has a quick dry time you will not feel sticky or tacky afterwards but just word to the wise put a towel on the floor if you do not want to have a game of slip and slide and God forbid an injury so make sure you have something on the floor because it does make the floor slippery."

Let’s Get Intimate: Panthenol | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"For the body I love this Aquaphor Ointment spray. Aquaphor is obviously a thick ointment that you guys know but this comes in a spray form. So I do use this after the shower to help seal in the moisture and interestingly it is loaded in panthenol as well as glycerin. This one is a favorite, it is not vegan friendly because of the lanolin alcohol in it but if you're not vegan and you don't mind, this one is actually great for your body."
Tips + Tricks for Eczema! | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"I love Aquaphor's ointment body spray because this one can go on easier. It doesn't feel as greasy as vaseline which is the gold standard if you have eczema because it just gets absorbed lighter, but it does make your floor slippery so do this over a towel and be very careful. It could be the final step after you've moisturized to sort of seal it in. If you have a crepey neck and chest, it's a great one to add on top of your moisturizer for your neck and chest."
Body Skincare w. Retinol, Niacinamide, AHAs, & More! | Dr. Shereene Idriss
"I am obsessed with this. [...] I actually do use this after I shower because once you're showered and you're kind of moist and you put this guy all over your body it will seal it in. You do feel tacky so you probably need to walk around a little bit in your underwear or naked for a minute or two just to let it dry out, but it's something that gets all the nooks and crannies of your body without you having to think about it and it is a beautiful and easy application product."
