"I grew to love this one more though and it's geared towards more oily skin, this one's geared more towards dry skin. It feels nice on my skin. I didn't have any issues using it in Europe with no issues with sunburn, redness, or freckling. For what this promises, they promise a more hydrated version of Beauty of Joseon's best-loving sunscreen, protects all skin type users from strong UV rays, enhance skin's moisture barrier, offers instant calming effect for irritated and dry skin, gently nourish skin and promote a healthy looking and plump complexion leaving a refreshing finish without any white cast or sticky feeling. I tend to agree with most of those promises and the ingredients in this product back up those claims. It protects you from the strong UV rays. It's got skin-identical ingredients, it's got soothing ingredients, it's got skin-protecting ingredients, antioxidants, vitamin E, and ferulic acid. So I tend to agree with those claims."

"I really really used to hate this stuff and this winter towards the end of this winter I found myself using it and actually not hating it. "So this one came out and I didn't even look at the ingredients list, I just ordered it, and my first test of it, it had fragrance in it, so I was a little bit disappointed by that, but everything else about it is nice. Apparently they're coming out with a fragrance free formula. They say this nourishing serum features SPF 50 plus PA plus plus plus to protect skin against harmful UV rays, infused with ginseng extract, the anti aging formula enhances skin elasticity and keeps skin hydrated, formulated with two percent niacinamide to brighten skin for a glowing appearance, and a lightweight texture that melts onto the skin without a sticky after feel. My first criteria on this one is packaging, it's just a pump bottle, very nice, although I really like a good old fashioned squeeze tube, that works too. In terms of denatured or drying types of alcohol, it does contain alcohol, it's the sixth ingredient, and apparently that's why they included the fragrance, to cover up the smell of the alcohol, which I'd rather they didn't. Alcohol really doesn't have much smell, I mean it has an initial smell but it goes away within seconds, and I'm starting to get over alcohol in sunscreens, because it does help sunscreens set better and feel less greasy."

"This is my number one pick from Beauty of Joseon, their popular sunscreen. Both the original and the new version are chemical sunscreens, and if you're sensitive, some reviewers say their eyes get itchy. It's so lightweight that even if you layer it several times it doesn't peel and it absorbs well, and it's glowy after application, but it doesn't last long. You need to use a cleansing oil to remove it because it's water resistant, so it's hard to wash off with a cleansing foam. As a dry skin type, I love it and it's great under makeup. I highly recommend it if you have oily or combo skin, or if you live somewhere tropical, because the older version feels more oily while the newer one has a more watery, fresh texture. "This is my biggest surprise of the year. This sunscreen released to a lot of controversy because Beauty of Joseon went in the direction of including both alcohol and fragrance, which they hadn't done in ages, they'd switched to a fragrance free direction and people were surprised by it. I'm even more surprised to have actually tried it though, because to me it doesn't really have much of a scent, it seems like they're using those fragrance and essential oil ingredients to help mask the smell of the filters themselves. What they ended up with is the clearest sunscreen out of all ten in this video, it truly applies like a gel and it is so fast to apply. I'm calling this my favorite sunscreen to use as a primer because it's such an interesting and different formula from everything else. I think the reason it works so well under makeup is that you don't need to take as much time with it, partially because of the denatured alcohol in the product, which helps it dry up faster, and yet it still has a bit of a moist primer like sensation on the skin that makes it so perfect for under makeup. That's the sunscreen I'm wearing today. If you're avoiding alcohol and fragrance in your sunscreens there's no need to buy this, but I'm saying this is my standout because of that speed aspect, it's perfection for rushed mornings."

"I was hesitant to buy this because it does include some fragrance and some alcohol, and I don't love that it comes in a pump instead of a squeeze tube, so points were deducted there. But when I put it on my skin I could barely smell the fragrance and it applied so fast and easily. "This is an SPF 50 PA4+ and it is a beautiful lightweight, light hydrating sunscreen. "This is a Korean chemical sunscreen and I know people don't like chemical sunscreens but I'm telling you guys even the most sensitive skin can wear this. It has rice and grain fermented extracts that are rich in vitamins C and E, it contains niacinamide, it has amino acids, minerals, glycerin. But what I love so much about this is the hydration levels that it gives my skin. SPFs can be that kind of mandatory phase but if you can find one that leaves your skin feeling and looking the way that you want, you are onto a winner. For me this kind of gives me that glowy, that sort of hydrated look which is what I'm always forever chasing. The thing is I really layer up my SPF, I throw a ton of the stuff on, I do a very thick layer and then I go in and do another thick layer and everything just soaks in and it just leaves me looking very healthy. A lot of times I don't wear makeup at all and I don't feel that I need it and I'm getting the hydration levels that I need plus flawless under makeup. It's just perfection. So filters that we don't have access to in the United States that are superior and if you deal with hyperpigmentation, you are going to be more sensitive to UV than your average person. The other reason I like these products is a lot of Korean skincare routines are like 10 steps long. And so they've designed their sunscreen to layer well over a lot of products and not feel heavy. And the reason I do it in two layers is because I find that if you do two at once, you're just doing a lot of smearing. "Beauty of Joseon [...] Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF 50+ PA++++ is something I want to talk about [...] because of the way it sits under makeup and the way it goes on the skin. [...] It almost disappears on application. [...] It's not sticky or tacky. There's no white cast from it at all. This makes it the perfect prep for makeup. You can literally just use this as your moisturizer and go on top with your foundation. It works on oily skin, dry skin, dehydrated skin. You just need a good amount on each part of your face, break it down to forehead, cheeks, nose, and then tap that into the skin and your foundation is going to sit like a dream on top. There's also a ton of soothing ingredients and antioxidants in this sunscreen. So if your skin is quite sensitive, if sunscreens kind of irritate your skin, [...] this is going to be a great option for you to go for. [...] It's so lightweight. I can't even feel it. Sometimes sunscreens give you a warm feeling on the face. I can't even feel it. My dehydrated areas are smooth. My oily areas don't feel over prepped or greasy in any way."

"Um Beauty of Joan do two different options. So there's more of a lighter weight one and there's more of a medium weight one. None of them are really heavy."

"It's so, so light, and the brand has disclosed that they've used essential oils to help mask some of the raw skincare smell and some of the essence of the alcohol, just kind of creating more of a neutral scent overall, so it's not playing a heavy part in the experience of the sunscreen. The texture is a really unique gel type of texture, there's no cream or lotion involved here, this is a true straight gel texture, what you see is what you get. It spreads really evenly and beautifully and thinly across the skin. We've got a good dry time here because the denatured alcohol is really helping that process along quite well. It feels so light, so breathable, it is really remarkable how refreshing this feels on the skin. The finish I'd describe as sort of satin, but I think on certain skin types it's actually going to look a lot more dewy, maybe even a little bit more wet. My initial review was really noticing that this was more like I said, satiny, maybe a little bit dewy, but as I've played with this sunscreen a little bit more and taken in more feedback from different skin types, especially oily folks, I am finding that this is actually a lot more shiny than it first seemed in my initial testing. I also had a co-tester on this product who had more normal skin type and it didn't really show up for them, but it definitely does have a little bit more gloss to it."

"I still really like the Relief Sun. I will often gravitate towards this in the colder months, in the winter months, when my skin needs every ounce of moisture it can get, and this feels amazing on my skin. But I often put it away for the warmer months because it's a little heavy in that situation. If you're looking for something that's going to nourish dry skin, maybe be a little bit more protective in a colder climate, then the Relief Sun would be a great choice for you. I could not find many negatives, maybe the packaging, and I always think it's a negative if a sunscreen doesn't have a water resistant rating on it."

"It's SPF 50+ PA++++, it's a chemical sunscreen, and I think it offers really good protection. It's a sunscreen that feels really moisturizing. For folks who like to replace their moisturizer with their sunscreen, this is a really good one for that because it does offer a good amount of creamy moisture to the skin, and it can actually save a lot of time in the morning. I personally love it in the winter time because of that creamy moisture. I need every ounce of moisture that I can get on my skin, and our winters are really harsh. This is one of my favorite sunscreens for winter time. It has a really nice finish to it, it's not too shiny but just a little bit dewy. It works well underneath makeup for me, and I don't detect a white cast really on my skin until I layer this up two to three times."

"I do respect this sunscreen, but I cannot use it. I think it's definitely something that's going to work if you have an oily skin type, especially because there's no emolliency here, there's no wetness to it, there's no moisturization or shininess to it, so that gel texture is going to be a great match for your skin. Even combination folks are going to like this neutral finish. Yes, of course we can find this in other sunscreen products, but it's not common to get a neutral finish, especially in a Korean sun care product, because in South Korea that slightly dewy kind of finish to skin care is definitely popular, so it's hard to find a sun product that doesn't contribute to that. Just the finish and the texture alone are really impressive. I do have some greater criticism of this product that I want to share. I'm not going to yuck it for the denatured alcohol, because you really need that in order to create this type of formula. The essential oils, I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum, if you like fragrance, use fragrance. I don't think it's harmful to the skin at all, but if you're sensitive to it..."

"I have already raved about the Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics so many times but I'm going to quickly run through it in case for those of you who are new to Beauty of Joseon. This is possibly the most raved about sunscreen online at the moment and it is my favorite sunscreen that I've tried so far. It is a Korean sunscreen that's not approved in other countries as far as I know. It is pretty lightweight but on the more moisturizing side which I have personally really appreciated. My skin is sort of oily combination but it has been drying out a bit because I've been using a lot more retinoids which are a bit drying and I've also had some hormonal changes thanks to dealing with endometriosis. The texture is really beautifully smooth and buttery. It's made by one of Korean's top sunscreen manufacturers. There is a tiny bit of white cast when I first apply it but it goes away once I leave it for about 10 minutes. [...] The downside of the sunscreen is that because it is so popular there's been quite a few fakes floating around like on Amazon so if you are planning to buy this I highly recommend buying it from an official retailer like Stylo Korean."
