What the gurus are saying

This mist divides reviewers sharply: some praise its luxurious scent and spa-like experience, calling it a daily essential and desert-island product, while others find the high alcohol content (listed second) and peppermint, rose, and essential oils actively drying and irritating, especially for sensitive skin. Those with redness or sensitivity may want to skip it, but people drawn to the aromatherapy ritual and who tolerate fragrance well often become long-term fans.

"I think the formula is not good and it actually creates the problem you're trying to avoid in the first place. [...] People love it because it has a nice scent and [...] feels refreshing and initially hydrating, but [...] it has a lot of irritating components, especially the fragrance. [...] It claims to [...] help with skin hydration and boost glow, but the primary ingredient is denatured or SD alcohol, which actually has the opposite effect and can be really drying and stripping."

"And then because it's dry you're like, oh my gosh I need to spray more on my face, which increases the dryness and then it's a lose-lose situation except guess who's the only one winning? Caudalie. When you have to keep reapplying the product over and over again because your skin is dry, it's just a formula that really annoys me. I mean, to be honest, most facial sprays really annoy me. I get it though, it smells nice, but get a perfume, don't use that."

"It's a very refreshing spray, if you want to call it that. I find it absolutely horrific. It's minty. It's like spraying a cold mint all over your face, and you get a tingle, which is mostly from peppermint and alcohol. You can feel that evaporation, not from anything really improving your skin or refreshing your skin. And in fact, for sensitive skin, that combination of fragrance and essential oils in here is going to be more irritating than beneficial."

My Honest Opinion On Skincare Best Sellers 🤔 Ultra Violette Sunscreen, Caudalie, Naturium, Tatcha
"This has a few things that my skin hates: bitter orange, rose because it stinks, peppermint and myrrh, both of which my skin really despises. Peppermint is a known irritant anyway, but it gives you an overwhelming menthol feeling that just lingers and hangs in the air and makes your skin feel like it's got static, like you got pins and needles in your face, and it just lingers for so long. It was like a stinging sensation more than a cooling sensation. [...] It was too much."
Viral Skincare Products & Their BETTER Alternatives - Tiktok Skincare Compilation
"The worst product I can't believe got popular in any way is the Elixir, [...] it's like a mist version of Vick's Vapor Rub, it's horrific, I don't know why people voluntarily spray it on their face. They [...] put in some of the most notorious irritants into one bottle, bergamot orange, peppermint oil, mint leaf oil, linalool, citral, and [...] if you have rosacea, easily sensitized, compromised, or acne skin, I wouldn't dare put this on my skin."
Brand & Products I'll Never Review - Boring, Over Priced, Overhyped!
"This is incredibly minty - it was like spraying mouthwash on my face. The packaging looked very nice and I saw everyone on TikTok using it, so I got it from Cult Beauty. But it was so minty, like back in the days when they put a ton of peppermint and menthol into products and said it was invigorating. [...] It burnt slightly but didn't actually hurt my skin. It was like someone was slightly threatening me with a spot. The constant minty smell hung around for a whole day - it was unbearable."

"Caudalie has a mist that's a fan favorite, used under skincare and even over makeup throughout the day. You smell like you just walked through a spa, and it feels absolutely lovely and breathtaking."

"I do like to use this even throughout the winter on top of makeup especially if my skin is feeling dry or it's looking a little crusty. When you have makeup on and you're starting to see your little flakes come through this is a really nice facial mist to just spray all over just to basically reset your skin and it just brings life back and you just have this nice glow again."

"The best facial mist went to the Caudalie Beauty Elixir and wow, is this a great one. I've had it in my routine for years. I especially love how it smells and it leaves the skin feeling nice, but the aromatherapy experience is what I almost love the most. It's a great thing to keep in a kit if you're a makeup artist, it sets the mood. It's one of my personal favorites and sits right on my filming desk. I can't get over how good it smells."

"I know there's one in my gym bag and I know there's one in my car. [...] I've definitely used up other mists, but this is my most used mist. [...] I'm forever trying to flag to people when it goes on offer in Boots and things like that. [...] It's probably going to be in my forever products. It's obviously a desert island mist just with my brew next to it."
~Nay
"Alcohol is actually listed as the second ingredient followed by a bunch of fragrances and essential oils. Alcohol can be helpful in skincare products as an astringent and can make products feel very light, however it can also be drying to the skin, especially when it's listed in the front of the ingredient list, which means it's at a higher concentration. I'm not a huge fan of essential oils and so many fragrances for people with sensitive skin."
~Yay
"I also adore sprays. I have this one here from Caudalie, which I absolutely love."

"This is straight up just a fragrance balm. If you use it because you like fragrance and it makes you feel fancy [...] and empowered then go for it, but this is not something that is conducive to skin health in my personal opinion and professional opinion. [...] For the sensitive skin, no no no. Even for general skin I do not love. [...] If you're struggling with acne, 0 out of 10 do not recommend."

"There's a 550 product that you know is not worth five hundred dollars at all, it's probably worth like 60. But the Caudalie Beauty Elixir comes in this same bottle. It is luxurious, it [...] radiates light and creativity. [...] When you open it you get a very interesting beauty night cream. It [...] reminds me of something that a king would wear and the Caudalie is probably something that a king could both afford and have the interest to use."
