What the gurus are saying

This cream strikes an unusually balanced interplay between hydration and nourishment without feeling heavy or greasy, making it a standout pick for combination skin leaning dry or dehydrated skin. The formula delivers moisture deeper into skin rather than sitting as a greasy layer on top, thanks to its medium weight and good occlusivity, while the blend of humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid paired with ceramides and fatty acids keeps the skin breathable. One thing to note: propolis can trigger allergies in some people, particularly those with fragrance sensitivities, so patch-testing first is wise.

"It sinks into the skin really beautifully and does a lot of the moisturization deeper within the skin, not sitting on a greasy layer on top. There's good occlusivity here that fights transepidermal water loss, and it has panthenol, B5, for hydration, but it's also barrier supportive with low-key ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids. Let's put some love back onto this moisturizer, it is so darn good."

"I have to talk about the COSRX Hydrium Moisture Power Enriched Cream. I do recommend it in a lot of different seasons. This is one of my favorite Korean skincare moisturizers. It has such a unique quality to it. This is my pick for combination skin that leans more towards the dry side. I think dry skin may also enjoy this, but if you have dehydrated skin and dryness and combination that describes your skin type, pay attention to this one."

"I also really like this Moisture Power Rich Cream, although it does have propolis, which some people develop an allergy to and can cross-react with a fragrance allergy, but [...] it does have moisturizing properties."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
