What the gurus are saying

This sunscreen's notably oily, moisturizing texture appeals to those with dry and mature skin, especially over 40, though pilling is a drawback. It comes in tinted and tone-up versions with both mineral and chemical filters. However, the chemical filters can sting sensitive eyes, it may leave a white cast on darker skin, and the rich formula feels too heavy for oily or combo skin.

"Dalba is a very oily sunscreen, so I don't recommend it for oily combo girlies, only for dry mature skin. [...] The Korean version [...] is a lot more oily and sits so well before makeup, but it has a little more white cast. The Korean version of tone-up sunscreen doesn't work well for darker complexions, so I only recommend it for skin similar to mine."

"In Korea, Dalba is actually more popular than the global sunscreen trio, and I recommend it especially for dry mature skin because it's more moisturizing than other products. In winter it's great, but in tropical weather some people will feel a bit greasy, and it feels similar to the Espa sunscreen."

"The d'Alba pink tone up sunscreen and the purple version turned out to be surprisingly not that different from each other. If you have dry mature skin I'd definitely recommend it because it's so creamy, it just feels like a rich moisturizer. But if you're oily or combo, it can feel a bit greasy."
Olive Young Top 1–3 Products: Overhyped or Actually Worth It?
"A makeup artist friend of mine uses this on clients who are moms over 40, which means it's great for dry mature skin, because compared to the other two sunscreens this one is the most oily and moisturizing, and very smooth and easy to apply. If you have oily combo skin it can feel a little greasy. It says it's a tone up formula but it doesn't leave a weird white cast, so if you have drier, more [...] mature skin, especially in winter, it's amazing to try."
Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 SKINCARE | Which One is Really Better To Buy?
"It's a pretty oily sunscreen, so I'd recommend it for dry and mature skin, oily or combo skin might feel it's too much. [...] I also wouldn't recommend it for darker complexions because it can leave a white cast, and if you have a lot of redness I wouldn't recommend it either. Between the two, most people would probably prefer Skin1004, but I have dry skin so I never feel too oily with this one, so I'll pick d'Alba."

"My first step of actual makeup is an SPF primer, probably my favorite one of all time, the D'alba UV Waterfull Essence Tone Up Sun Cream."
Top Pick: spf primer

"The first time I used it and got a whiff of how it smelled I was so disappointed, my god is this concentrated with citrus essential oils, it's a very intense scent. I don't use or recommend products with fragrance on my channel, so I was automatically disappointed, but I didn't waste it, I continued using it just to protect my ears and the back of my neck, which worked fine. [...] Because of how strong the fragrance is, I have to put it at the bottom."

"The other one that I'm decluttering is the d'Alba Piedmont Waterfall UV Essence SPF 50. This also pills. The reason I'm decluttering this, I know, don't recommend it is the pilling."
