What the gurus are saying

These tinted drops neutralize facial redness while delivering SPF 35 protection in a serum form. Gurus found they work best when layered under or over your regular sunscreen, since you would not realistically apply enough of them alone to provide adequate sun coverage. For those already treating redness, this could be a helpful addition to their existing sun care routine.

"I learned in the last few weeks that people just use this as a color corrector but it is actually a sunscreen so if you try to get two full fingers you can cover up redness with this and it will neutralize your redness. This is a picture of me in 2018 or 19 after a treatment that I had done and this is a picture of me with the sunscreen the same day so it really does work at covering up redness while protecting your skin."

"They've recently come out with a more opaque version because it has SPF, Tiger Grass Camo Drops Neutralizing Drops. [...] This one has SPF 35. Would it ever replace my sunscreen? No, because I would not be using this much to get the right coverage for my face. But I think it is a very nice adjunct to use underneath or actually on top of your sunscreen to help neutralize your redness if you are red."

"This is my go-to. This provides your skin with that radiant finish so it looks like your skin but better with a little bit of a glow. It's not greasy, it's not sticky or tacky. It just looks like your skin. This blends into my fair skin quite nicely. If you're looking for a tinted sunscreen or something to help neutralize redness, this really is great. [...] This one has a zinc oxide of 2.9 percent and a titanium dioxide of 1.9 percent."

"This really helps to neutralize redness, so if I have any blemishes this really helps to tone down on that redness and this pretty much gives my skin that even skin tone. I like to use this on those no makeup makeup days because it does a really good job to add that color to my skin but also to even out everything. This blends into my skin so nicely and my skin isn't orange with this either. It blends right into my neck perfectly and it looks very natural."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.
