The soft, velvety texture makes these shades smooth and pretty to apply, but that same quality makes layering tricky since stacking a base, matte, and shade requires more intention than with rougher formulas. Pigmentation comes through nicely, even on pastel shades, and the packaging is objectively gorgeous. "As for their eyeshadow, I feel like they have this really soft and smooth eyeshadow formula, and while that sounds gorgeous, you have to keep something in mind, because the shadows don't have a lot of texture. It's actually kind of hard to build in layers, your base layer, then a matte on top, then shading that matte, this gets really hard to do with the Flower Knows formula. I feel like their formula can be a little tricky."

"It looks almost velvety. [...] One issue I've had with Flower Knows previously is that I found some of their products weren't very well pigmented. So I'm kind of happy with how these are, considering their pastel shades. They are coming out with a good amount of pigment. The [...] middle shade is very, very soft. [...] There's a little bit of fallout in terms of the shimmer and the color, but I did go on with big, fluffy brushes, and obviously they don't hold on to product as well."
