What the gurus are saying

Gurus split on whether this cleansing device is essential or optional: one group uses it daily and loves it, while the other appreciates it for people who struggle with thorough cleansing, but considers it optional if you already remove makeup and sunscreen well. The reusable silicone bristles never need replacing, which keeps costs down. What matters is knowing whether your habits are already solid or you'd benefit from the extra engagement.

"I've tried the Foreo Luna cleansing devices, I feel like these are nice, every generation has improved a little from the previous one. I don't think you necessarily need one of these, but what they're good for is if you struggle to wash your face thoroughly enough or long enough, they can make it a lot more fun to wash your face. I really do understand why some people enjoy those."

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty: Week 1 is a bit Odd?!
"I do like the later versions of Foreo's Luna, I think the four feels nicer than the three, which feels nicer than the two, and it's nice that with the silicone bristles you never have to buy anything else. But I don't think every last person needs a device to help them cleanse their face, if you're already really good about massaging off your makeup and sunscreen, you may not see added benefits. I ever so slightly still prefer a konjac sponge even to this day, but that's its own catch-22 because you have to replace those. I do like the Lunas, it's just one of those categories that I don't think everyone needs, you have to know yourself before spending that much on it."

"I still use my Foreo to this day. I love their cleansing device. They launched the Foreo Luna in 2014, which has silicone bristles, which provides a gentler, more hygienic facial cleanse. That addressed two of the main issues people have with Clarisonic devices: that the traditional bristles were too abrasive, especially for sensitive skin, and that they would harbor bacteria like toothbrushes do, especially kept in the bathroom. Foreo's decision to use silicone bristles not only made cleansing gentler, but silicone is also nonporous, so it doesn't harbor bacteria like traditional brush heads do. That meant you didn't need to clean it as regularly or replace it. People were saving huge amounts of money because the Foreo Luna was a one time purchase, you never had to buy replacement heads. You charge it once a year, I can't count the amount of times I've lost the charger because I never have to use it."

"I love my Foreo Luna. I have had that for about three years. I've charged it twice in those three years. These devices last forever."
