What the gurus are saying

This serum earns consistent praise for immediate brightening and a comfortable, hydrating texture that works across skin types, though experts split on whether it actually fades dark spots long-term. Dermatologists highlight the stable vitamin C derivative and soothing centella asiatica as especially gentle for sensitive skin, while beauty experts appreciate the gel consistency and glow it delivers. The main caveat: those expecting dramatic hyperpigmentation fade may be disappointed, since the brightening effect appears more cosmetic than corrective, and people with dry skin in winter may need to seal it with a richer moisturizer to feel hydrated enough.

"Between the two vitamin C serums, this one is a little different, it's okay, I like it, but I like the other one more in terms of hydration level since I don't see much difference in brightening between them."

Viral K-Beauty vs What Koreans Actually Use: Which is better? And Why?
"Between the two vitamin C serums, this one is a little different, it's okay, I like it, but I like the other one more in terms of hydration level since I don't see much difference in brightening between them."
Olive Young Top 1–3 Products: Overhyped or Actually Worth It?
"Between the two hyaluronic acid serums, I definitely love this one more. If you apply it once you might not notice much, but if you layer it three or four times, tapping it in, [...] your skin feels a lot more hydrated. I recommend it to anyone who is oily combo on the outside but dry underneath. It's a good everyday hydrating serum, but [...] don't expect too much when it comes to fading dark spots, and it smells really nice, a light citrusy scent."
Global No.1 vs Korea No.1 Skincare: Which is Better and Why?
"Goodal's vitamin C serum isn't a pure vitamin C, so I can't guarantee the brightening effect. It's meant for erasing dark spots, but if you have dry skin and it's winter, it's not moisturizing enough on its own, I feel like I have to seal it in with a thick moisturizer. I like Anua's serum more for the moisturizing, and honestly I don't know if this one actually fades hyperpigmentation."
Korean Skincare products that are actually POPULAR in Korea
"This is the Goodal Vitamin C Dark Spot Care Serum. It's a vitamin C serum, easy to apply, and the scent is trusty and refreshing. It has a more glowy finish than the Torriden serum I'll introduce later, and it's great before makeup for all skin types except oily skin in summer because it can feel a bit sticky. It says bye bye to dark spots but I disagree, and it says it has a brightening effect but I don't think so. I think it became popular because overall it enhances your skin condition."

"This is a serum that I have tried myself from Korea and I love this one because it is great for those seeking a vitamin C derivative mostly for skin brightening benefits. [...] It contains ascorbyl glucoside, a sugar form of vitamin C that's a lot more stable but really helps with skin brightening, helping with uneven skin tone, especially if you struggle with post acne marks."

"A serum that you guys made me buy and I really tried using it for about two three weeks and I gave up and that is again by the brand Goodal the same brand it is the vita dark spot serum, I don't think it's worth it"

"I want to love it and she swears by it and maybe someday I will try it out."

"Apparently one is sold globally every 30 seconds. This isn't vitamin C as an ascorbic acid, which is my gold standard. This vitamin C refers to the extract of the vitamin C rich fruit. The base of this serum is Tangerine extract, but it also contains 4% niacinamide and 2% arbutin. It's great for immediately brightening dull skin, which is what I use this for. It's a nice satisfyingly thick gel, feels comforting on the skin, and also gives so much hydration and glow."

"This is from Goodall, it's their Green Tangerine Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum. This is more of like a vitamin C derivative, so I really use this because it's just really nourishing for my skin. It makes it look glowy and bouncy. I love this product. I go through bottles of this. I've done sponsorships with them, love it, love this product. I think it's just a really enjoyable experience when you use it."

"This is exceptionally well formulated for sensitive skin people because the vitamin C content in this is very unique. It is derived from real fruit extract, specifically the green tangerine, which has ten times more vitamin C than other fruit, and it has centella asiatica in it to soothe the skin. This one has a jelly-like texture to it, so it is very smooth on the skin. You can layer this with other skin care products or makeup."
