"The sebum softener ingredient seems to vary brand to brand. I'll be honest with you, I don't 100% know what it is, it tends to be a load of natural ingredients ranging from witch hazel, squalane, each brand kind of claims a different thing, but it works, I'm not questioning it. I've been using a variation of this product for over a year and a half now with no issues, I've just been dedicated a lot more to using this one more recently. Somebody suggested that what was coming off my nose was actually just the product itself, which, me being skeptical about everything especially when it comes to product claims, I was like, I also believe that was what was happening too. So I tried this on various places on my body just to see if I was just scraping off product, and I wasn't, the product's clear, the stuff coming out of my nose was yellowy kind of colored. And then a few people were like, is that not just dead skin? It's like, yeah, but that's kind of the point though, there are gentle exfoliants in here, it will gently exfoliate the nose in order to help soften the sebum, in turn there will be a mix of dead skin in there as well, which is a good thing, I'm glad it does that. The tool is just a hollow bit of plastic with a bit of metal on the end, it's not one of those sonic scraper tools, I think mainly used by estheticians, I don't like them, I don't recommend using them on your own at home. I would go as far as saying this is really just a very handy prop for the whole process, and the idea of this is to gently glide literally like this over the nose, there's no digging. Somebody on my TikTok commented, why is your nose not red from using scraper? Because I'm not digging, I'm literally just gliding."

"This is ILSO Super Melting Sebum Softener. All this is, is essentially like a little spatula that you don't dig into your skin. You very gently glide it over. You can apply a little bit of pore pressure if there's any kind of little bits of sebum stuck in the skin. It's got this really nice shape to it that can help get in all the crevices of your nose, and it's got like a rubber grip on it as well, so you have a good firm controlled grip and direction of where you want to go without irritating your skin. I absolutely love this. I don't know why more people don't use these type of products that can help with the look of pores on your nose and anywhere else on your face without having to irritate and rip stuff out. I wish more people used this or knew of it."

"This is the Ilso Super Melting Sebum Softener. My go-to for clearing blackheads, sebaceous filaments without ripping and squeezing. You soak this in a cotton pad, leave it for 10 to 15 minutes, then use a little spatula to gently remove all the gunk. They do give you cotton pads to use, but I found better ones, these nose paw strip shaped cotton ones from Amazon. They just cover your nose so perfectly, there's not a single bit of congestion or clogged pore that goes untreated. No gaps, no wasted product, so your nose just looks super even and clear. Together they just melt everything away so perfectly, remove it so gently, all without irritation."
