What the gurus are saying

This toner's standout is how gentle it is for sensitive skin, dermatologists and experts consistently reach for it for people with eczema, rosacea, or dryness who struggle with stronger acids. The gluconolactone works slowly to improve texture and radiance over time while also drawing moisture in, and the short ingredient list (sea extract for antioxidants, aloe for soothing) keeps things simple. A few times a week is the sweet spot for those with reactive skin, and the dip-pad packaging means it lasts quite a while.

"It's an exfoliant acid toner with a [...] very short ingredient list, gluconolactone, which is a gentle polyhydroxy acid, plus a sea extract for antioxidant benefits and aloe for soothing, no fragrance. It's pretty simple and it'll last you quite some time. [...] If you have super sensitive skin or your skin doesn't react well to other AHAs or BHAs, this one's nice. It's great for sensitive skin and very easy to fit into your routine because of how gentle it is, and it's got nice packaging."

"I kind of like Medik8 Press and Glow for this. With a Q-tip you want to make sure that you press away, just roll away any excess fluid. You don't want it to be drippy, you want as controlled an application as possible, especially when you're working around your eye area. I would just gently use it around the areas where I may have milia. Of course, if the milia is right on my eye bag or close to my waterline, I would not use this method."

"Another exfoliant that I really love for people who have dry skin and particularly for people who have dry and sensitive skin is by Medik8, it's their Press and Glow PHA Toner. This product uses an exfoliant that maybe a lot of people have not heard of or not familiar with. It uses a polyhydroxy acid called gluconolactone. Polyhydroxy acids in general tend to be more gentle than alpha hydroxy acids, and gluconolactone specifically is really good at both exfoliating and hydrating the skin."

"That's super gentle. You actually apply it like a toner pad. It contains 5.5% glucono lactone, which is one of the polyhydroxy acids. It's really gentle, and for someone with more eczema, rosacea, and dry skin, I think this is really nice to incorporate into your routine a few times a week. Polyhydroxy acids are more considered [...] a humectant, but over time it can certainly slowly improve that skin texture and skin radiance. This is something I really love if you have sensitive skin."
