What the gurus are saying

This mask causes eye sensitivity and visual disturbances with prolonged use, problems serious enough that Neutrogena chose to discontinue the entire product line. After customer complaints about these eye-related effects mounted significantly, the company ultimately withdrew it from store shelves completely. The safety concerns are substantial enough that you'll want to skip this device entirely if you're exploring acne light therapy options.

"I love LED therapy, but this mask is absolutely ridiculous. In August of 2019, Neutrogena voluntarily recalled their LED Light Therapy Acne Mask, stating that their LED mask may cause transient eye pain or irritation, tearing, blurry vision, seeing spots, or changes to color in vision. This was from something like 0.02% of complaints that they received from the mask, so it was a very small percentage, but they recalled it being extra cautious. [...] For £35, you could buy the mask itself."

Investigating Neutrogena's WORST And Most 'Dangerous' Product - Beauty's Biggest Flops
"This mask promised dermatologist quality treatment at home, aiming to reduce acne causing bacteria and inflammation without using harsh or stripping chemicals. [...] Neutrogena was always harsh for my skin, especially when it was targeted towards oily skin or acne. [...] They've changed their ways now, but they still have their grapefruit [...] stuff, which I won't go within a mile of nowadays. [...] The mask [...] had two light settings, red light and blue light."

"The one I used a lot was the one from Neutrogena which got discontinued because people complained about their eyes. I've tried a dip, a ton of different other off-brand ones and varying degrees of success."
