What the gurus are saying

The milk-like, emulsified texture feels pleasant and removes sunscreen effectively, but the oil falls short on extracting blackheads, which is something many people expect a cleansing oil to do. Experts split on whether the trade-off is worth it: some view it as perfectly acceptable for sunscreen-only use and light makeup removal, while others consider it not worth the space in a skincare routine.

"I tried this again and I definitely love it because of how it feels rolling on the skin, it's amazing. My oily skin makeup artist friend loves it too, she says she can feel her blackheads melting, so it's amazing for oily combo skin as well. The texture is a nice middle ground, a little heavier than the lightest oils but not as heavy as the richest ones, so it's a good pick if you want something in between."

I Tried *Viral* Korean Cleansing Oils & Cleansers and Compared Them | Which One Is Best?
"They don't only use natural oil like the Banila one, they also add synthetic ingredients, so the texture is right in the middle, which works great for sensitive skin, because the natural oil can be a little heavy and if you pump too much you have to rinse too many times, which can cause redness. I love the name, it's similar sounding, but it has no scent at all, that's why Koreans are loving it. I will pick this one."
1 Year Review // Is Numbuzin still Good? Honest Review (The Best, So-so’s and The Worst)
"Compared to another cleansing oil, this one is definitely more watery but a little thicker, kind of like a milk, so it emulsifies well and feels pretty good. But in terms of blackheads, I feel it's not melting them out really well, so I'm giving it a so-so. If you're only using it to remove sunscreen, it's no problem though."

"Not only does it smell so uplifting and spa-like, but it genuinely packs a punch when it comes to melting away anything that's sitting on the skin and giving you a little glow up in the process. If you work this into the skin for, say, 60 seconds as part of facial massage, the glutathione in here is really going to get to work to help lift any excess pigment and also help to just brighten and glow up the skin. I love the way it feels."

"There are much better oils. In fact, I've just done a video today. Today we did Mixoon and Skin 104. Those are both Korean brands and both have other products that I would recommend. So for this oil, it's a hard no."

"It's a very thick cleanser and it's got those little things, they call it a rice enzyme softening cleansing foam, but it feels like it exfoliates but not as much of them as other things. The [...] ingredients are glycerin, water, cellulose, then rice extracts and ceramides, ramlin for exfoliation."

"Their cleansing oil is also my favorite. It's just one of the rare foaming cleansing oils."

"I would say [...] it's a stellar oil cleanser. It actually lathers like a rich lather and it's going to leave you hydrated and it's so effective. You know, sunscreen, makeup, doesn't matter. It comes off."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
