What the gurus are saying

This serum packs ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids to deliver heavy-duty barrier repair work. Gurus recommend it specifically for anyone whose skin barrier is seriously damaged or compromised. The lipid-rich formula makes it particularly nourishing for dry skin. It's serious repair rather than light hydration, and best-suited to people managing barrier damage rather than those looking for basic hydration.

"I also like Paula's Choice Omega Plus Recovery Complex Serum, which is fragrance-free."

"Paula's Choice Omega Plus Recovery Complex Serum which is $44. So it this one is expensive however it's half the price of the Tatcha. In here we've got Omega fatty acids we've got the ceramides we've got the sodium hyaluronate and we've got the rice. In terms of that it's very similar and it's also fragrance-free just like the Tatcha is. This one's really nice and it's a nice option and dupe for some other products as well."

"If your skin barrier has gone off the deep end, it is jammed, it is broken, it is in need of a lot of help, this is one of the products that I would recommend. This is a very high quality, very concentrated and very smartly formulated barrier repairing product. We have five different types of ceramides, we do have cholesterol, we have a ton of fatty acids, and that's actually where the name Omega is coming from."

Ranking My Skincare Empties with Emojis! Summer '23 Edition
"I've liked this for a really long time. This is a really, I would say this is like a serious barrier repair type of product. It is a very creamy, very rich, lots of plant oils in here. [...] This is very rich, very creamy, it's almost like a lotion type of serum but it really gets the job done. I actually started using this in place of Liquid Gold earlier, and it was the spring or early summer when I was using this."
My Sephora Top 15 Skincare Picks
"Your skin barrier is made up of 50% ceramides, 25% cholesterol, and 25% fatty acids. They are crucial part of your skin barrier, and that's what this serum focuses in on. It's about repairing that skin. It's quite creamy. This is just straight up creamy. It's just a creamy serum. It's just moisturizing. There's no watery, there's no gel. And there is no fragrance in this."
Tips for Using Tretinoin in Winter | AD ft Dermatica
"Another one that I also really like is the Paula's Choice Omega Plus Recovery Complex Serum. We have ceramides and cholesterol here but they have included a ton of fatty acids and this might be a great place to look at if you're also suffering with dry skin because the lipid content in here is incredibly nourishing."
No Niacinamide Skincare Picks!
"This is a really interesting product that I think is really geared towards skin that is ailing because it's bringing out the heavy. We've got a couple different forms of ceramides, we have cholesterol, we have fatty acids, we have so many fatty acids and that's where the Omega in the name of this product comes from. It is referring to the Omega fatty acids that they're using: three, six, and nine fatty acids, and they're using them in multiple different forms."
If I was repairing my skin barrier today I'd use...
"I really like this because it has a similar focus as lipid gold does with the ceramides, the cholesterol, the fatty acids. They just have a little bit more of an emphasis on fatty acids, and a little bit more of a diversity of fatty acid content here, and a lot of focus on omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids which are actually really crucially beneficial to your skin barrier. The core here is still the same with those barrier replenishing, strengthening, and healing lipids."
