What the gurus are saying

The color comes out dull and muddy rather than flattering, making the premium price genuinely hard to justify. Reviewers report it spoils surprisingly quickly, and application is frustratingly difficult since the product is hard to scoop out of the jar. The recyclable glass container was appreciated, but not enough to overcome the core disappointments with how the product actually performs.

"[RMS] Beauty, this is their Lip2Cheek. It's a very dull color. [...] It's a very muddy color. There's no shine to it. It's hard to get out. And it's just not pretty at all. It's not pretty on my lips. It's not pretty on my cheeks. Super disappointing for their Lip2Cheek."

"I recently tossed one of my RMS Lip2Cheek products, I think they're expensive. In their defense, I like that I could scoop it out and recycle the glass container, but I won't buy it again, it's too expensive and it goes bad too quickly."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Sunscreen filters

Sun protection is the best evidenced way to slow visible ageing, and the filters are what does the work. Mineral and chemical filters both protect when a product is applied thickly enough and often enough, which is where most people fall short rather than on the choice of filter.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
