What the gurus are saying

Applying this clay mask from a stick, with no fingers or brush, is the detail gurus keep returning to. The clays earn praise for soaking up surface oil, and the centella keeps things soothing, though not everyone is convinced it does much for blackheads. Those with dry skin may want to stick to the T-zone and keep it to around five minutes, while oily and combination skin is where it fits best.

"Great. This one wins on convenience, no mess, no brush, no effort. It doesn't shrink pores, but compared to just a cleanser it's definitely deeper cleansing, huge points for being easy. On dry skin, using it on the full face is too tight, stick to the T-zone only. The brand says up to 10 to 15 minutes, but I'd say don't go past five. It's best for oily combo skin, once a week, not treatment skincare, just maintenance."

"I avoided it at first just because of the name, but out of the three pore masks it turned out to be the mildest. It is thick, but it goes on smoothly and is super easy to apply, you do not even need your hands or a brush. That said, my skin still felt dry after washing it off, and honestly I am not sure just rubbing this on the surface does much for blackheads. I would rather recommend using a cleansing oil properly instead, it is less aggressive and works a lot better."

"I just think it makes application less messy like sunscreen sticks, retinol sticks. Um, this pore stick is interesting. So, this is by the brand Skin1004. And it has like five different clays in it that really can absorb the oil from your pores. But I also appreciate that it has soothing ingredients like centella asiatica, and aloe. So, it's not a super drying type of mask. But yeah, I think the experience of just applying it with the stick is what makes it more enjoyable."

"It's really a stick mask that's designed for pore care. [...] I really love the fact that you can use it like on the go as you need and also kind of spot treat areas of your face like the T-Zone without getting it messy and goopy and everywhere. [...] With the formulation, what is really intended for is individuals that struggle with oiliness. If you have oily skin and also [...] struggle with pore congestion and large pores, this may be helpful as well."

"This applies so beautifully, so elegantly. I just don't see the point of ever using my fingers to spread a clay mask ever again. It's got the smoothest, silkiest glide on the skin, but also it's creamy enough to just be a completely effortless application. There's no pulling or dragging on your skin as you use this, and it dispenses just the right amount, a nice thin layer that covers everything, gets in the pores, everything."

"This is probably the best execution I've ever seen of a clay mask in a stick, it glides so nicely across your skin, actually applying instead of just staying in the container [...] the way older versions did. You get a very gentle exfoliation from the seed powder, [...] not too drying, so even normal to a bit dry skin like mine could like it. It's nice not to get your hands and fingernails into it while applying, and it removes easily. It's well done."

"This one uses pink clay as well as kaolin clays that help to absorb that excess oil from the surface of the skin and from within the pore. And this formula also contains centella to help soothe the skin. It's not overly drying, and the convenient stick applicator makes it really easy to just apply to problematic areas like your T-zone where you tend to have a lot of shine. Apply it to a clean, dry face. Leave it on for 5 minutes or so and then rinse it off."
