What the gurus are saying

The encapsulated Madecassoside capsules dissolve instantly despite an initial tactile feel, spreading easily with no tackiness. Gurus praise the high active concentration (77% centella plus tranexamic acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide) and exceptional value at £15 for 100ml. That's a six-month supply. Some ingredients have irritating potential. Those on tretinoin may prefer morning use, but it's gentle enough to layer or use twice daily.

"Comes in a 100ml size rather than the standard 30ml, meaning one bottle lasts about six months, easier on the wallet and on shipping since you're not constantly repurchasing. Contains tranexamic acid, which is anti-inflammatory and helps prevent hyperpigmentation, plus stabilized vitamin C to fade hyperpigmentation you already have, other brightening ingredients for radiance and luminosity, and centella asiatica for that pro-collagen benefit alongside the vitamin C. Good if you have a lot of hyperpigmentation linked to breakouts or sun exposure. Really inexpensive, paid around £15 for the 100ml, equivalent to about £5 for a standard 30ml. Gentle enough to use alongside or in place of the Beauty of Joseon serum, used twice a day. The only thing that would be changed is the packaging, which is a boring gray, not very eye-catching, but forgivable given how effective the formula is."

KOREAN SKINCARE RECORD SALES SURGE - World Rankings 2026
"This one, the Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule, uses tranexamic acid alongside other brightening ingredients to help fade hyperpigmentation and achieve a more even skin tone. They pair really well, they don't peel if you use them side by side, and yeah, they work. If you're looking to boost hydration, minimize pores, and supercharge your hyperpigmentation routine, using the two together is a really nice option. And you get a lot of product, there's 100 mil in both of these, and both of them around twelve pounds, so for twenty four, roughly twenty eight pounds, you can get two hundred mil of serums and these will last you like six months, so it's quite cost effective too, which I like."

Top 10 KOREAN SKINCARE FAVOURITES - K-Beauty You Have To Try (*UNSPONSORED*)
"This is the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule. This was known online, particularly on TikTok, as being like glass skin in a bottle, and it definitely delivers that beautiful hydration, that freshness to the complexion. Just because glass skin's kind of gone out doesn't mean you throw this out, this is actually phenomenal. It's got tranexamic acid in it in a really good concentration, which is going to help even out the skin tone, fade hyperpigmentation, and really help to lock in a lot of hydration too. It's got centella asiatica, it's doing a lot. It's also like one for a hundred mil of product, so so affordable. It is genuinely stunning, one of my personal favorites, I've loved it for years. Glass skin can come and go, but this will be in my routine for life, it's so nice. Another one you can keep in the fridge for that additional cooling, it is just a wonderful, wonderful product. So if you're looking to help fade your hyperpigmentation, even out your skin tone, and really help just lock in that hydration, this is like an A plus, ding ding ding, ten out of ten recommendation, and so affordable, which I love."
My MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE - Guaranteed To Boost Skin Collagen
"The Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule is so gentle yet effective, I can use it on the same day I use a high potency exfoliator and I've still got great results, it just feels so so good. It's got a tiny amount of niacinamide, enough to get the benefits but not enough to have a sky high amount like the ordinary one that's going to give you sensitivity. I absolutely love this and it just feels oh so so good on the skin. It's got vitamin C and tranexamic acid in it too."

"This one from Skin1004 comes in a big bottle so it feels affordable, but it has capsules you have to melt down, and I used it for a few months and it ended up so messy. It is so hydrating, I would recommend it more for dry mature skin. But if you have oily acne prone skin you will feel this is pretty sticky, and it has centella in it like all Skin1004 products, so if centella is okay for your skin there is no problem, but some people react to it really badly, so keep that in mind."

"I finished off my SKIN1004 tone brightening capsule ampoule, and next up I'm working my way through the regular one. At the end of the day, I still just like the original ampoule the most."

"In terms of animal testing, this is cruelty free as well as vegan. In terms of performance, I would say adding this has been somewhat helpful. I like the fact that I can add this in without having to take anything else out, that's a big priority of mine. [...] There's some reviews online from people that say they didn't notice any brightening. For true brightening to occur, you really need to be very patient, give each product two to three months to work, and it depends on how many other brightening products you might have tried before. Things like my melasma may never really get that much better, and you also must be using sunscreen to prevent new damage from forming. Not every type of hyperpigmentation responds to every different type of treatment. In terms of what this promises, a fast absorbing ampoule that provides you with clear and brighten skin, I'd agree that it'll help with one of those things, I don't..."

"The Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule claims to be fast absorbing and provide bright and clear skin. It contains tiny capsules of encapsulated Madecassoside swimming in a clear liquid that becomes a thinner gel texture once out of the bottle, with no noticeable scent. Despite the gel texture, it spreads easily with minimal tackiness, and while you can feel the capsules on application they disappear immediately afterwards. It has no tackiness and can be used morning and night. She used it in the mornings because some of the ingredients have irritating potential and she uses tretinoin at night, but personally did not experience any problems. Ingredients include Centella Asiatica Extract at 77% as the first ingredient, Niacinamide at around 4%, Tranexamic Acid at 2%, and 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, plus Glycerin, Panthenol and Lactobacillus Ferment. Overall she was really impressed with the product as it contains way more active ingredients than expected and it fits great in her morning routine."
