What the gurus are saying

This cream earns serious praise for its moisturizing power, with gurus calling it fantastic for very dry hands and especially helpful in winter. The standout is the price point, it normally runs around 40 dollars at Sephora, which gurus note is steep, though some have found it worth stocking up on when spotted at discount retailers. Not many gurus have weighed in yet, so there is not much to go on beyond these takes so far.

"This Skinfix eczema cream is just like a hand lotion, but it's specifically for eczema. It's a really good hand cream. It's very, very moisturizing. I keep it in [...] a little tray on our coffee table with all the random stuff that we use all the time. I keep this in there to moisturize my hands, which have been a lot better since I switched out my hand soap. This is fantastic if you have very very dry hands, especially in the winter time with cold and dry air."

"I love this stuff. So I shop at TJ Maxx occasionally and I found several bottles of these and I picked them all up because I'll link to it at Sephora but it's normally like 40 bucks I think or somewhere around that for a bottle. So it's kind of expensive but it is wonderful and I don't use this like during the summer spring too much but in the winter and fall when it starts to get really dry I'm using this stuff all the time."

"The SkinFix full strength body cream, [...] I picked this up from TJ Maxx in the store and I think I got it for like eight bucks, and at Sephora it's like 39 bucks. [...] I picked all the ones that were up when I was at TJ Maxx, I think they had like four or five, and I bought all of them. I love this stuff."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
