What the gurus are saying

The shimmer variety's gritty texture and Pearl shade don't work for everyone: the high shine and color depth earn clear appreciation, though others found the shade dated and the texture grainy, discovering the formula works best applied to the lip center only. The original formula received more universal praise, though people do tend to use it up faster than they might expect.

"The Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plumping Gloss is another more lippy thing. It's kind of like a hybrid balm lipstick."

"With the Tarte Maracuja Lip Plump in the Pearl Shimmer Glaze, I just don't understand the hype behind these. The shimmer has that gritty feeling to it, and if I apply a lot of it I feel like it's not a good look, it's one of those that makes my teeth look yellow."

Disappointing Products: Some Things Shouldn't Be Released
"I liked the original formula, I just finished it way too fast. But the shimmer one is very gritty, and my other problem is that this isn't a flattering color on me, it gave me flashbacks to the early 2000s. This is making my disappointing list because of multiple reasons combined, though I think you might be able to appreciate this product if you're just applying it to the center of your lips."

"I do like that high shine, high color."
~Nay
"So unfortunately this was a fail for me and I'm not going to continue to use it because of the scent is just a little bit too strong"
