What the gurus are saying

A lightweight feel that still leaves skin hydrated, without much shine, is the detail that comes up most. It glides on without stinging, even around the eyes, and leaves no tint behind, though it can feel a little richer than the lightest sunscreens. The one thing to keep in mind: it is not water resistant, so it may wear off sooner if you swim or sweat a lot.

"This has to be one of my favorites thus far. [...] This one is very lightweight. However, it still kept me feeling hydrated and moisturized. [...] So, this felt hydrating and moisturizing. [...] I like this. I could wear this in the summertime. I could probably wear this, you know, like spring, fall, the winter, I might need a little bit more than this, but this I really like. This is probably the second or third Thank You Farmer sunscreen that I've tried just in general."

"Thank You Farmer Sun Project Skin Relief Sun Cream is a nice simple fragrance-free sunscreen with some good filters in there. [...] It's not too greasy, it's not too shiny, and it's not tinted."

"I recommend this not just because it's lightweight but also because it has niacinamide, which is a vitamin B3 analog that's soothing, anti-inflammatory, regulates sebum production, and helps repair the skin barrier. The texture has a little green tint to it. It has licorice root extract, which is great for hyperpigmentation. It glides out on the skin with no sting at all, and doesn't sting even if I put it on my eyelids."

"Among her office sunscreens, the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Skin-Relief SunCream SPF 50+ is one of the ones that didn't stand out enough to call out individually but is filed under nice."

"One I recommend checking out is from Thank You Farmer Sun Project Skin Relief Sun Cream that comes in PA 4 pluses and SPF 50, blends advanced chemical filters with centella, and is a lightweight cream that's fast absorbing with a semi-dewy finish that does not feel heavy. Overall it's just a great one, especially if you have normal skin or combination skin looking for something more lightweight to use. Great to use even in the winter time, and it is also hypoallergenic and vegan."

Dermatologists Answer Sunscreen Questions
"This one I definitely have used it throughout the winter and it's definitely great. It's not heavy, it's not sticky, but I definitely find that with the ingredients and the way it's formulated it just gives a little more extra support to the skin during the winter. That's amazing."

"This Thank You Farmer sunscreen, it's not my Holy Grail Korean sunscreen by any means, but I like it, I've been enjoying it. Unlike some American sunscreens, zero burning eyes with this. I [...] put it all around my eyes and [...] I don't even feel like I have sunscreen on."

*Vlog* PUTTING A NEW KOREAN SUNSCREEN TO THE TEST @DrDrayzday
"My first impression was that I really liked it, it's a little richer but still lightweight, and it leaves no cast. It's not water resistant. I wore it all day and I enjoyed it, I didn't get any burning, redness, or irritation, and it didn't pill or ball up, it was comfortable. [...] It didn't look too shiny to me. It's a vegan formula. This is pretty good, I'm going to finish it off no problem, it's not going to give me any issue."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.
