What the gurus are saying

This high-concentration vitamin C serum sparks real disagreement: some gurus praise its strength and affordable price, while others flag serious irritation and texture problems. Those who like it note it works for brightening and can layer with hyaluronic acid or vitamin E, though a few found it caused stinging. The sticking point is the grittiness and pilling many experienced when layering it under moisturizers, at 30%, the concentration itself pushes some people's skin too far, and the silicone base doesn't play well with other products. Anyone with sensitive skin may want to start low and patch-test first, or consider a gentler 12% or 15% option instead.

"This is a product that I never hear anybody talk about and from my experience with this, this has been a miss from day one. The formulation is gritty, it pills with skincare products. It has that silicone ingredient so it never layers up nicely with serums and moisturizers. [...] I tried to make this work back in the day when I first started using it and I could never make it work because it pilled. [...] When I put my moisturizer on top of this, that's when I noticed everything peeling."

"I'll be better going for a 15% which is kind to my skin and gives me some great long-term benefits. [...] The fact that it often balled up and people didn't have the best user and application experience means just another reason that a lot of people moved on. This definitely is one of their lowest selling vitamin C's. [...] The risk of overdoing with this is far too high versus the benefits you're going to get."

"The vitamin C 30 suspension felt grainy and gritty on my skin"
