What the gurus are saying

Premium pricing is the core finding here: cheaper conductive gels work identically when used with a microcurrent device, making the premium harder to justify. Reviewers genuinely praise this gel's pleasant texture, but whether it's really worth the cost is the real question. Those receiving it free love it; those paying full price have their doubts. One report flagged breakouts.

"The ZIIP Golden Gel [...] is incredibly expensive, and you don't have to use these if you have a microcurrent device since you can use other conductive gels, but I love them. They have extra beneficial ingredients said to be transported deeper into the skin through the microcurrent; I'm not sure that's what moves the needle, but I really enjoy using them. The Golden Gel is my favorite, which is why I finished two, but it's also the most expensive. [...] I'm not sure I'd buy it with my own money, but I get them as PR, so I'm happy to keep using them."

"I ran out of mine and they sent me one over as part of their Black Friday promotion. I love this one, it's so lovely in texture, so I'm very happy to have one of these. That said, you really do not need these expensive gels, since a cheaper conductive gel works perfectly fine too."

"I'm using four pumps of the Golden Gel for my ZIIP treatment. You can use whatever gel you prefer, I just like that one and I get it for free, so I use it. It is quite expensive though, and there are other ultrasound or conductive gels you could use on Amazon if you are on a budget and not in the lucky position that the brand sends you stuff."
So many skincare empties - Everything I used up in 2023 | Doctor Anne
"Filed under random are the conductive gels I am using for my devices, one is the prorelax Conductive Gel that I get from Amazon and then the ZIIP Golden Gel that I got via PR. The Golden Gel is so much nicer in terms of texture, but I completely understand that it being ten times the price might put people off buying it."

"If you're looking for a microcurrent, this is just the one to go with. I love their gels, they're the best I've ever used because they don't dry up. There's nothing worse than gels in the middle of the thing and you have to keep squirting or reapplying, I hate that. They have a couple of different ones to choose from based on the ingredients."

"ZIIP is a brand that I love, but this Golden Gel just did not work for me or for the people that I put it on. ZIIP sells different gels that you can buy to conduct electricity, and this Golden Gel was terrible. This broke a lot of people out, and they say that this Golden Gel is made for more mature skin, but when I tried this on more mature skinned people, they weren't a fan of it either. It's honestly really goopy, and it can honestly cause an allergic reaction for some people. [...] It's stringy and jelly, which is great if I'm using a snail serum, but if I'm trying to do a microcurrent device, I don't want my microcurrent device to stick to this and get all stringy over someone's face, and that's what would end up happening. I would pump this gel on the skin, and it feels like literal glue on the hand or the face, and then when you try to use a device it literally strings from the device. [...] It was disgusting, and you can't even get it off very easily. They say you could leave it on the skin, but I don't know how I'm supposed to be able to leave this on the skin, it is so gross. It's just not my favorite, and it's so disappointing because ZIIP makes such an amazing device. When I first tried these gels I was so disappointed by them. [...] They also have the silver gel, and I kind of lump these together because I think they're the same base, they're both goopy and kind of gross, and the cap comes off like this, just not a fan. [...] The difference is that one is gold and one is silver, and that sounds cute and fancy, but from a scientific perspective, some..."

"I repurchased the Golden Gel, this is going to be one of those expensive products I keep buying. I'm convinced this isn't just the best Ziip gel, it's the best gel to use with any kind of microcurrent, including the Medicube Ussera, it's the best gel I've ever tried. It has a really high glycerin content so it stays moist on your skin, you apply it once and wash it off when you're done instead of having to keep reapplying like with NuFace's gel. No matter what device I use it with, I always see more results when this is the gel I use. It's expensive, but it's proven itself to me, that's why I went back for more."

"My previous favorite gel was the ZIIP Golden Gel, the most expensive one, since ZIIP has multiple prices on their gels and I had to love the most expensive one. I figured out a dupe that is much less expensive than that previous favorite."

"I did miss one skincare product. This is the ZIIP Golden Gel. Love this. It's one of my favorites because for mature skin, it's very hydrating while you're doing your ZIIP routine. My absolute favorite one. They have the gold, they have the crystal, but I always seem to return to the silver gel."

WINTER SKINCARE & MINIMALIST MAKEUP OVER 50 | GRWM
"I'm currently using the ZIIP Silver Gel, and I find I need two pumps of this gel, whereas the Gold Gel I only needed one pump. What I love about the ZIIP gels is you don't need much to get them on, and using a mist helps with the glide, you can get your entire face and neck covered in a couple of pumps if you treat your skin beforehand with some mist. It just makes your ZIIP gels last a lot longer. I got a full year out of the Gold Gel. So they are expensive, but they are a good investment."

"I got through a conducting gel for my ZIIP, this is their basic gel. If you love their gels I have a 25% discount code, I'm pretty sure it's still going on. They have the most beautiful gels. I'm almost done with the silver gel and I tell you these gels last forever, I think I've had this for over six months. I keep my skin a little bit moist before I put on the gels and these last forever, so a little bit of investment in their more expensive gel, they have great skincare ingredients, are well worth it I think. And I've gotten through a basic gel, actually I got through I think a couple of them, I think I tossed the other one."
Best Skincare Treatments to Transform Mature Skin (Top 3 Devices & Top 3 In-Office Treatments)
"I love it, it's one of my favorite treatments. I apply some mist before I put on my ZIIP gels. I have some of you guys that only buy the ZIIP gels even though you use another microcurrent device, honestly I think these are the best microcurrent gels out there. Do you have to splurge for these? Absolutely not. Will you get the same results? Absolutely. But the skin care ingredients in the ZIIP Golden Gel and the ZIIP silver gel are incomparable to any gels that I've tried. If you use a little bit of mist you can help your gels last a little bit longer, it will possibly increase the sensation, so if you have super sensitive skin you might want to skip the mist and just go with the amount of gel that gives you the coverage and the comfort that you need."

What Your Microcurrent Can Do for Dark Spots (That Nobody Talks About)
"The gel I'm using throughout my anti-pigmentation routine is going to be the ZIIP Golden Gel. It has glutathione, licorice root, and cedar bark extract for lightening and brightening. I usually use about three pumps for my face."

"There's a little gel that comes in the box, but it's not going to last too long, so you do want to pick up some additional gels because this is a must to get the microcurrent to work on your skin. You need the gel for this to glide across the skin, for it to penetrate into your facial muscles. There's the silver gel, which helps with additional hydration, so if you have dry skin this one is wonderful, and I also really like the crystal gel, this will actually help to brighten the skin. You don't have to rinse your face after you've done your ZIIP Halo treatment. You can actually leave this on your skin and then go and apply all of your other skin care on top if you really wanted to, or of course you can rinse this off and then go in with your skin care, it's totally up to you. Sometimes I will leave these on my skin and sometimes I will rinse them off, it just depends on how I feel and what I am using that day in terms of beauty products, but I really love these two gels specifically, and the one that comes with the device is also lovely."

"You might want to put four to six pumps of the Golden Gel all over the face, and then of course go in with your ZIIP Halo afterwards. If you need to put a little bit more gel in some areas then do that, but you need the gel for this to work properly, for the microcurrent to penetrate into the skin."
